So, you have entered
the contest, and you wonder why you have not made it
to the top 25.
Here are some dos and don'ts....Mostly
don'ts
To be qualified to enter the contest, make sure
you avoid the don'ts.
To make it to the top, make sure you avoid the don'ts
and follow the dos. |
Don't
use pictures taken by yourself or your friends and family.
Professionalism is an absolute must. Pictures
that look like taken in your living room, bedroom, backyard,
or restaurant by your friends and family are not acceptable.
These pictures will not be considered. Make sure you hire
a professional photographer.

Don't
use photocopies.
Not only do photocopied pictures such as scanning
from printed magazines look unprofessional, often their
qualities were lost during scanning and copying. The example
below is an extreme case where this person scans a library
card. An ID picture will not be featured on the website.

Don't
edit your own pictures.
While we understand that you want to make sure
your photos look as nice as possible, we cannot accept
a photo that looks as though is edited so much that you
don't look like your true self.

Don't
use funny pictures.
While mug shots, cartoon pictures, "headless"
headshots are funny and do catch our attentions, they
certainly are not winning photos. Please understand that
these photos will be disqualified.

Don't
use group pictures.
We are looking for your individual pictures because
we want to focus on you.

Don't
use pictures with poor resolutions.
Please make sure that your photos have high resolution.
If you don't know the resolution of your photos, upload
the photos through our contest page first, then the resolution
will be detected and shown. You are allowed to change
your photos, so you can swap the photos to better resolution
ones. We look for high resolution photos because we want
to make sure YOUR headshot is crisp, sharp, and clear.

Do
use pictures with the best resolutions you can find.
It is possible for us to shrink your picture
if they are oversized, but we can not enlarged pictures
without pixelating the image. So when in doubt, bigger
resolution is better.

Do
use pictures with no editing.
People want to see the real you. Sure you want
your picture to look beautiful, but keep the natural look
with minimal amount of make-up and editing. If you wish
to remove blemishes or wrinkles, leave that to us.
